A Poet In Us All

The Truth
Written by Amira Farhana

We all want to grow up. We're desperate to get there. Grab all the opportunities we can to live. We're so busy trying to get out of that mess, we don't think about the fact that it's going to be cold out there. Really freaking cold. Because growing up sometimes means leaving people behind. And by the time we stand on our own two feet, we're standing there alone.We are all looking for answers. In medicine, in life, in everything. Sometimes the answers we were looking for were hiding just below the surface. Other times, we find answers when we didn't realize we were asking a question. Sometimes, the answers can catch us completely by surprise. And sometimes, even when we find the answer we've been looking for, we're still left with a whole hell of a lot of questions.Just when we think we figured things out, the universe throws us a curveball. So, we have to improvise. We find happiness in unexpected places. We find ourselves back to the things that matter the most. The universe is funny that way. Sometimes it just has a way of making sure we wind up exactly where we belong.

The Spectrum Of Life
Written by : Putera Muhamad Ashraf

We all want to grow old,
(A step closer to independence)
But consume ourselves with desperation,
To grasp the opportunities that come our way.

Preoccupied trying to get out of the mess,
We never gave thought to the cold world outside,
Blindly, we roam in our endless endeavours;
The means of leaving people behind.

By the time we stand on our own two feet,
We're left standing alone, looking for answers
To the spectrum of life in it's true form.

The answers to questions looked for,
Lay hidden below the surface,
While answers never turned to,
Catch us by surprise.

While we're still left with a whole lot of questions
And just when we think we've figured some out,
The universe throws us a curve ball.

We are then left to improvise,
To find happiness in places least expected;
Losing sight, our thoughts run amok,
Thus returning us to memories that matter most.

The universe is funny that way,
(An agitation to our fickle little mind)
But yet, it has it's way of assuring,
That we'll wind up exactly where we belong.
