Bringing Back The Dead

I sit at the table,
Enjoying a sip
Of liquid pleasure.
A skeleton comes by,
Pulls up a chair
And sits beside me.
He lights a cigarette,
And kick-starts
A conversation.
"What are you doing
Here in the gallows?"
He asked.
"I have an appointment,"
I replied.
"With?" he asked.
"With Death."
The skeleton chuckles.
"What business do you have
With Death?"
"Oh nothing fancy.
Just a friendly conversation,"
I shrugged.
The skeleton
Was taken aback
With all the smoke
Floating about
Its flesh-less body,
Before releasing it
Through its teeth.
"My, my,
Made friends
With the reaper
Of souls
Have we?"
Said that skeleton.
"You can say that,"
I replied.
He leaned towards me
And said,
"May I know,
What it is,
This "friendly conversation"
You intend of having?"
"He took away
The love of my life."
The skeleton chortled
Giggled and sniggered,
Before bursting
Into laughter.
"She's dead,
Accept it,
You can't bring her back!"
He slammed his fist
Onto the table,
With a grin
Across his face.
I stared
At his hollowed eyes,
With a smile
Across my face,
"Oh yes I can.
Only for a moment,
But still..."
"How?"
The skeleton asks,
Adamant and confident
On the stance of Death.
"Death takes
And gives nothing back.
So do enlighten me,
How do you intend
To bring her back?"
I sniggered,
With a wide eyed grin
And said,
"By having
A friendly conversation
With Death."
The skeleton was stunned
Knowing very well
What I meant.
